Film funding: Its development in Guayaquil period 2014–2018.

Abstract

The development of Guayaquil cinema presents a great difficulty when obtaining its financing. In this order, a descriptive, non-experimental research is designed, based on categories, events, etc., and the sources of financing of the films released between years 2014 and 2018 are examined. Ten producers of Guayaquil films were interviewed, evidencing the cinematographic commercial proposal, the term and the financing strategies from the script. Results are presented where crowdfunding, crowd investment, own funds, advertising exchange, collective investment, public funds and private investment as fundamental sources in the production of films in Guayaquil.
