Prevention of drug dependence from educational environments.

Abstract

Statistics and studies carried out in Ecuador show that drug dependence is a growing phenomenon, especially in school and youth ages. This increase forces to change traditional and assistance models, for others of a multidisciplinary nature whose fundamental basis is Health Education. The prevention of its manifestations in the educational field is oriented in two fundamental directions: the first, aimed at guaranteeing attention to students, their family and the community environment; the second, to the preparation of teachers in school institutions. The promotion for health, in the school environment, improves the preventive treatment of drug dependence that students present.
