Abstract

The peculiarities of professional training of future police officers at higher education institutions that have specific training conditions are analyzed. It is determined that a police officer following a new ideology of service function requires a revision of the priorities of professional training. The principal direction of the improvement of the professional training of police officicers is defined to be the implementation of new approaches to training and the development of criteria for assessing their professional readiness. According to the research results, modern methodological approaches to the professional training of future police officers are presented. The motivational value-based, cognitive, operational-activity and personal criteria of future police officers’ professional readiness are distinguished and characterized.
