Discussion aspects of the legal regulation of the procedure for the election of heads of municipalities in the Russian Federation.

Abstract

In this article, the author considers the problematic issues of the procedure for electing the heads of municipal districts, urban districts, urban districts with intracity division, intracity municipal formations of cities of federal significance by representative bodies from among the candidates submitted by the competition commission based on the results of the competition. The paper presents an analysis of the current legislation regulating the participation of citizens in the formation of local governments, as part of the study of the problem, the practice of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation and analytical materials confirming the relevance of the chosen topic are presented.
