Abstract
The article discusses the theoretical and legal foundations of the institution of mediation in the Russian Federation. The authors formed legal constructions of a settlement agreement, as well as legislation on a system of pre-trial procedures for resolving disputes. The institutions of conciliation procedures and settlement are analyzed.
