Self-Determination of Peoples: the concept and direction.

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the development of the law for self-determination, and the international and national legal basis of its establishment. The interaction with the law of selfdetermination with other principles of international law is investigated. The criteria for implementing this law are differentiated. It is concluded that self-determination as a right has a basis in international law, and applies to nations that live under colonial dependence; Selfdetermination for minorities is related to the type of political regime and the right to selfdetermination has a collective character, legal content that guarantees individual rights.
