Abstract

Biological accidents of exposure of health personnel due to percutaneous injury are frequent in the hospital setting. This work determines as objectives: determine the hospital area with the highest incidence of occupational accidents with exposure to biological material and identify risk factors. The study is cross-sectional descriptive, with data taken from accident and incident statistics, using the questionnaire applied to workers in the Obstetric Center area. As a result, 40.4% of health personnel do not recapture the needles after being used and 29.8% perform re-capping frequently.
