“I am not overpopulated”; Pakistan. Positive effect of population growth on economic development of Pakistan.

Abstract

Generally, it was believed that the population growth has negative effect on economic development, but from the last decade, economists insist that population growth plays an important role in economic development due to its positive effect on macroeconomic variables. The current study investigates the positive relationship of population growth and economic development. The study used secondary data from world population census period 1981 to 2015. E-views software was used to analyse the situation. Findings show positive relationship between population and economic development; thus, population growth is not bad at all. The slogan is look to be true that, “I am not overpopulated”.
