Socioeconomic Incidence of Oil Exploitation in the Province of Pastaza.

Abstract

In mid-2008, oil production begins in the province of Pastaza, in the fields located in the parish of El Triunfo, Curaray and a part of the Arajuno Canton, through private companies, which have settled in the blocks signed by the government after the respective negotiations; in agreement with the communities of the area of direct influence. Agreements have been fulfilled regarding the assistance provided by the actors in education, basic infrastructure, health, mainly, but that has not been sufficient or proportional to the income obtained by the operators due to the high operating costs that the central government through of Petroamazonas pays them for each barrel of oil produced in their fields.
