Defect as an interdisciplinary category and its value in theoretical and legal research.

Abstract

The paper discusses the use of the category “defect” in various fields of scientific knowledge. The author has shown that the term "defect" is widely used in many sciences: mathematics, physics, medicine, psychology, engineering, etc. The relevance and practical significance of the study of defects in jurisprudence, in particular within the framework of the general theory of law, is substantiated. It is indicated that at present this phenomenon has been studied fragmentarily, its theoretical legal concept is missing, which prevents its effective branch research.
