Abstract

The former Bahawalpur State was a princely State ascertained by the Abbasi Daudpotras who ruled over for 230 years. “Insurgencies and Invasions Faced by the Bahawalpur State and its Military Response (1772-1809)” exposes the efficiency of the Bahawalpur State forces against the internal enemies / insurgents. The Bahawalpur State faced strategic challenges such as succession struggles, internal insurrections, diplomatic manipulations, and boundary conflicts with other adherent states as well during the period 1772-1809. The present study highlights the circumstances in which the State poses a threat by its internal foes and rebels and ensured its existence of independent rule in this turbulent part of the subcontinent.
