Abstract

The research addressed one of the problems that affect the teaching-learning process of the Spanish Literature course. It is about the need for the elaboration of exercises that favor the reading-comprehension of the Martian work in the students of the Basic High School "Manuel Fajardo Rivero," of the Manzanillo municipality, Cuba. For this, research methods were used. The fundamental contribution is given in the presentation of exercises taking into account the cognitive, communicative and sociocultural approach; aimed at arousing interest in students for the understanding of written texts, based on the study of some texts of the work of the most brilliant of Cuban politicians of the nineteenth century.
