Epidemiological analysis of toxicity associated with the use of pesticides in Benítez parish.

Abstract

Pesticides are chemicals, natural or synthetic, and have been used for several years when man needed protect his crops from pest invasion. However, today the use of pesticides poses a health risk by causing various diseases. Through a cross-sectional descriptive study, data was obtained through surveys of members of two agricultural associations belonging to the parish of Benítez in the canton of Pelileo, who have been directly exposed to pesticides, which has led to infections such as bronchitis and other family members with intellectual disabilities. The toxicity associated with the use of pesticides has affected the population studied due to constant exposure over the years.
