Risk factors associated with chronic-degenerative diseases not transmissible in the elderly adults of the Quisapincha Parish.
Abstract
Chronic degenerative noncommunicable diseases are associated with old age, and there are risk factors: biological, psychological and behavioral, which cause morbidity and mortality in both men and women. The research was carried out in the parish of Quisapincha, Ambato Canton, Tungurahua Province, with the aim of determining the risk factors associated with chronic noncommunicable diseases in older adults. The methodology used was a prevalence analysis; the universe consisted of 56 older adults. It should also be mentioned that not all the patients attended had prescribed treatment or medical follow-up. In conclusion, risk factors in older adults were determined, such as dyslipidemias, high blood pressure, sedentariness and predominance of overweight.
