Abstract

The research proposes a design of tourism promotion strategies for the strengthening of community-based tourism in San Francisco de la Rinconada in the city of Otavalo, province of Imbabura-Ecuador. In this sense, different virtual texts of various authors were used to reach concepts that allow the understanding of vital characters of community-based tourism. In addition, through the application of the inductive-deductive and analytical-synthetic methods, different criteria were known that intend to contribute to the development of the community. In conclusion, the strategies that are proposed will help to improve the economic income, dynamizing the local economy and promoting the care and preservation of nature.
