Abstract

The demand of a destination for the improvement of tourism is diagnosed, addressing both theoretical and practical aspects. To achieve this purpose, quantitative and qualitative research methods were used, including exploratory, descriptive, bibliographic and field research and the application of surveys to the population under study. The study contributed to know the characteristics of the demand of Patate; in order to determine the factors to improve in terms of services and tourist attractions. Another result is the proposal to indicate that once the characteristics of its demand are known, a strategic planning should be developed, where the perspectives of the visitors are included.
