Technical and Technology Education: A current look regarding a relegated type of training.
Abstract
Today, technical and technological education constitutes one of the educational modalities with the most problems in Ecuador; this is due to the fact that little effort has been made to delve into the subject to understand, that it is a modality with its own characteristics and requirements. This work aims to account for these particularities by carrying out a historical review of the situation in the country and discussing the challenges posed by this type of training. Based on the analysis of the teaching experience at the Higher Technological Institute of Azuay, these include phenomena such as loss of prestige and marginalization.
