Abstract

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the execution of the cognitive stimulation program in older adults, in order to improve the practice of the program in gerontological centers. The sample consisted of 15 residents in the Elder Laboure of the city of Quito. The study showed that 37% maintained their cognitive level and 25% improved it, compared to baseline data. The level of relationship that exists between neuroplasticity and the impact of cognitive stimulation programs motivates the investigation of other important variables aimed at improving the methodology of interventions with older adults.
