Prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Carchi province.
Abstract
Tuberculosis is a chronic bacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis that is transmitted by small drops of saliva that contain the bacillus. The objective of the work was to determine the prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the Carchi Province, in order to know the behavior of this disease. It is defined as mixed research (Qualitative-Quantitative). In the results, the prevalence of patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis in the Carchi Province in 2019 was 12 patients, distributed in poor areas of the province;¿ therefore, it is a priority to improve the search and recruitment of respiratory symptoms by sensitizing health personnel from the different operating units.
