Epidemiological profile of venezuelan migrants in Rumichaca, 2018.
Abstract
Migratory movements to Ecuador have increased mainly due to the social politic crisis in Venezuela; this situation led to a significant increase of security and health problems. In the northern Ecuadorian border of Rumichaca, different strategies and actions were implemented to mitigate the emergency by pursuing objectives towards the establishment of an epidemiological profile of the Venezuelan migrants. The methodology applied to this research was both qualitative and quantitative, in pursue of characterizing the phenomenon as well as statistic data and bibliographic foundations for its construction. Results show that infectious diseases, such as rhino pharyngitis and gastroenteritis are commonly present in Venezuelan migrants; thus, they represent 23,3% of morbidity causes. Previous research noted this same situation, infectious diseases predominate among the Venezuelan migrants.
