Abstract

Contemporary students are increasingly diverse in terms of characteristics, needs and abilities. Educational institutions demand educational leaders with the capacity to create adequate environments. The educational reforms have focused on the integral development of the student body; however, more teacher training is lacking. In approaches focused on learning, leadership plays a crucial role. The purpose of the essay is to analyze teaching leadership and answer Why is it important for student development? In particular, it focuses on teaching leadership and its ability to influence and transform students, teachers, and education in general. Shared leadership is proposed as an option to generate a leadership culture in educational institutions.
