Love as a formal, material, and efficient cause of education.
Abstract
The thesis of Agustín Basave Fernández del Valle is compared with those of other philosophers to determine the influence of love on education. The results indicate that: the ethos of the human being has its origin in the powerful influence of love, for which the adequate teaching of love is a necessity in formal and informal education and that the causes of education are: a) formal, whereas education is substantially an act of love; b) final, because among the values to be taught are wisdom, beauty, truth, goodness and love, and c) efficient, because the student agrees to be as long as he discovers in his educator the benevolent intention to improve him.
