Scientific basis of the ancient knowledge of the Tsachilas on the Matico plant.

Abstract

The Tsáchilas nationality of Ecuador is in the process of compiling, documenting and studying its cultural manifestations and ancestral knowledge in the use of medicinal plants with the aim of being declared as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, a work in the which the Autonomous Regional University of the Andes, Headquarters Santo Domingo has made its contribution with a research project to face the problem that involves the safeguarding of knowledge with the aim of documenting the ancestral knowledge of the Tsáchila nationality and supporting it with the scientific foundation fruit of phytochemical analysis and field research.
