Abstract

The health status of the elderly is important, so knowing their nutritional status allows us to identify the prevalence of malnutrition. The state of malnutrition presented by older adults in a Day House in Toluca was investigated with a quantitative, descriptive study, the Mini Nutritional Assessment validated by Nestlé Nutrition Institute (Spanish) was used, and a nonprobabilistic sample of 17 people of female people. 76% are at risk of malnutrition related to living alone, poor appetite, moderate dementia, and 6% with malnutrition. 71% suffer weight loss of 1 to 3 kg in the last 3 months. 76% are at risk of malnutrition and 6% indicate malnutrition.
