Diagnosis of training needs in the use of virtual platforms in the face of the contingency of COVID-19 in students and teachers of Higher Technological Education.

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to know the training needs in the use of virtual platforms in the face of the COVID-19 contingency in first-time students and teaching staff of technical high schools, in the community of Puerto Vallarta Jalisco (Mexico). The methodology is quantitative, not experimental, descriptive, exploratory, and comparative. The sampling technique is probabilistic, simple random, made up of 70 students and 19 teachers from CONALEP, 100 students and 41 teachers from CECYTEJ. The results showed the need for teacher training in the use of virtual platforms, in the instructional design to plan the classes, as well as in the management of other platforms for videoconference classes.
