Environmental education through Accounting in the University of Granma.
Abstract
The research addresses aspects related to Environmental Education and Economic Culture by proposing the subject Environmental Accounting, as part of the elective curriculum for the careers developed at the University of Granma; in order to design a subject program that combines knowledge and values on the efficient use of non-renewable resources, as well as the impact of the economic and social activity on the environment through the information offered by Accounting. The results obtained in the process of formation of the Accounting and Finance career, plus theoretical and empirical methods that allowed reaching conclusions, were used and recommending the generalization of the proposal to graduate a professional from Higher Education who conserves and protects the environment.
