Knowledge about suicide in adolescents from the Anibal Salgado Ruiz Educational Unit of The Tisaleo Canton.
Abstract
Suicide is the act of deliberately taking one's life. Children and adolescents presenting for medical care with suicidal behavior require a variable amount of medical, social, and psychiatric intervention, depending on the seriousness of their intention, their underlying risk factors, and their emotional support system. This article is based on a linking project carried out by the UNIANDES Medicine career, with which the level of knowledge that adolescents had about suicide was identified, with which an intervention could be carried out by both teachers from the educational unit as well as from our project tutors as well as from our career students.
