Abstract

The Cañita basin of the Charapoto parish supplies the hydraulic complex in the area, with the problem of flash floods. The analysis of the morphometric characteristics of a hydrographic basin based on parameters of shape, relief, and drainage network, is important for hydrological modeling to predict the way in which the rain behaves in its movement through the runoff of the site, determine a hydrological model that allows identifying the reason for the floods, as well as areas in which hydraulic works can control these floods. The general objective was to characterize the basin morphometrically to relate it to flash floods.
