Abstract

The current situation, we are experiencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, faced us with a practically mandatory radical change, going from face-to-face education to emergency remote teaching and challenges us to use virtual simulators available on the internet so that students can advance. This article describes a didactic sequence based on Ausubel's theory of meaningful learning, in three pedagogical moments, using the PhET simulator for Chemistry, available at https://phet.colorado.edu/, which allows identifying chemical bonds through a problematizing experimental activity, increasing the potential for cognitive development and the appropriation of scientific knowledge by students in a critical and reflective way, to improve their understanding and results.
