The Armenian Genocide and its international recognition in Latin America.
Abstract
One of the crimes against humanity of the 20th century is the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire during the First World War. For many years, Armenian political forces have pursued and continue to fight for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and reparations for the Genocide, in accordance with international law. This work, with a qualitative descriptive scope, aimed to analyze the political-historical background of this crime and the process of its international recognition in Latin America. In this way, the recognition of the Armenian Genocide was presented as a current problem of politics and international law, the role of Latin American countries in the condemnation and recognition of this crime against humanity was demonstrated.
