Abstract

The purpose of the research was to analyze legal and constitutional norms, as well as international instruments. This article makes a direct observation of crimes against humanity from a different perspective; it is to take into account the social and legal conflicts that generate debates about the application of the law around this type of crimes that affect the integrity of people. The results showed the need to solve the problem of crimes against humanity at the international level and those that occurred in Ecuador, which transcended the regulations. It was concluded that international criminal law has recognized three types of crimes: genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
