Abstract

In Ecuador, the absorption processes between Savings and Credit Cooperatives under the control of the Superintendency of Popular and Solidarity Economy have emerged as an alternative solution to unexpected closures of various financial institutions. The document review technique was applied based on statistics and reports presented by the control body regarding these processes in organizations in the province of Tungurahua; in this sense, it is essential to expose the economic and social benefits of the takeovers of Savings and Credit Cooperatives. To consolidate and strengthen within the framework of regional and national economic sustainability, the procedures to be followed by these Social and Solidarity Economy organizations are shown in detail.
