Eating disorders in adolescents aged 15-16 years old in the school of the Provincial Council of Carchi Tulcan 2020.

Abstract

The present study was carried out in the province of Carchi, Tulcán canton, where the high prevalence of adolescents with some type of eating disorder (ED) was evidenced. The objective was to prevent eating disorders in adolescents aged 15 to 16 years of the Provincial Council College. Results are presented that 76% indicated that they had sporadic knowledge of eating disorders, and 100% stated that there have been no campaigns related to good nutrition in adolescence. A diagnosis led to the identification of the problem, the respective analysis of the results, as well as the implementation of educational strategies to improve the prevention of these diseases that constitute a latent problem.
