Home nursing care in older adults with chronic degenerative diseases affiliated to the rural social security of the dispensaries of the Esmeraldas canton.

Abstract

This research was designed with the objective of developing educational strategies for home care of older adults with chronic degenerative diseases affiliated with the Rural Social Security of the dispensaries of the Esmeraldas canton. Theoretical and empirical methods were used, which were of fundamental support to collect information about the research problem, which allowed detecting a series of deficiencies in the knowledge of the care of older adults with chronic degenerative diseases, since 70 % of the population stated that they had not received training on the types of care. It was concluded that through the development of educational strategies it was possible to establish adequate planning to strengthen the knowledge of the nursing staff.
