Abstract
The aim of the study was to establish prevention strategies for human immunodeficiency syndrome in sex workers in terms of promotion and prevention. The research was exploratory carried out on 50 sex workers applying the survey. The results show that there is 6% illiteracy, 78% is foreign, 52% have children, 30% do not use prophylactics, 76% have sex with three to six clients a day, 34% do not know about prevention of the HIV / AIDS, 72% have no screening tests and 94% have no training; These data are the basis for developing a prevention program with strategies for the knowledge of HIV / AIDS.
