Abstract

Attitude towards research is a determining index of the quality of education in an institution; thus, the present study aims to know the attitude towards research of students from a Mexican public university. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational study was carried out. 321 women and 73 men participated with an average age of 21.79. A regular-unfavorable attitude towards the research of the students was found, and there were no statistically significant differences by sex in the variables included. Finally, it was determined a relationship between the influence of the teaching staff in the university and the student's self-perception towards their ability to carry out research. Some suggestions are pointed out to promote research in academic training.
