Abstract

The objective is to identify and analyze research on English language learning in relation to social representations in the period 2014-2020. The articles found in the databases of Redalyc, Scielo, Google Academic and EBSCO were used; for this, systematic and explicit methods were used to locate, select, and critically assess relevant research. The final sample was 8 research articles from Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and Spain. The study of social representations and social imaginary about the learning of the English language and its pedagogical processes will allow us to reveal the importance of culture and the paradigm shift in the implementation of innovative student-centered learning strategies.
