Abstract

This article presents the findings of the analysis of the records of sanctions for infractions of government and police regulations in the Municipality of Tampico in the period 2016-2020. The methodology consisted of a search and qualification of 11,704 administrative records. Work was carried out on two levels: a statistical analysis of the information and a characterization of the patterns of the offenses, the associated population, and the spatial distribution. The results were presented to public officials responsible for the areas. It is concluded that a long-term comprehensive approach is necessary to establish models of civic justice, to facilitate and improve coexistence in the community and prevent conflicts from escalating to criminal behavior or acts of violence.
