Abstract

The present work focuses on knowing and determining the knowledge of the seventh period students of the Bachelor of Gerontology, their experience, interventions, and techniques for the treatment of older people with dementia. The type of research is quantitative and cross-sectional, and the universe was made up of seventh-semester students of the Bachelor's Degree in Gerontology from the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico. 96% of students know the term dementia; 69% were able to identify the stages of dementia; and 54% identified diagnostic criteria for dementia. The management of patients with dementia should be a priority issue for Gerontology Graduates, due to population statistics and projections of dementia.
