Abstract

The training of educational professionals is a task of the first order. Educating them on the basis of the proper use of verbal and non-verbal communication is a prevailing need, since it prepares them to perform as competent communicators and to constitute linguistic models in any sociolinguistic context where they work, taking into account their dual educational role. In this sense, it is necessary to carry out a historical study that allows to know the treatment of non-verbal communication in the teaching-learning process of the Language and Communication discipline, for which methods of the theoretical and empirical level that contributed to the argumentation and interpretation of the data derived from the applied techniques.
