Paradigm change in burglar alarms with the use of the vehicle computer.

Abstract

Car theft has become the most common crime in Ecuador; there are audible alarms and with satellite tracking that are easily violated by criminals. The objective is to change this paradigm, using the vehicle's computer or ECU to block the car even at the moment of the robbery. The analytical method made it possible to identify the main performances of the ECU; with the synthetic method, on the other hand, it was possible to identify the parameters that allow the car's ignition to be locked. The tests showed that this new form of protection proved to be more effective compared to traditional alarm systems, benefiting all citizens who own a vehicle for personal or work use.
