The notion of citizenship among students in the framework of the High School Civic and Ethics Education program: the case of Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas.
Abstract
Although civic training, which secondary education students in Mexico receive through the Civic and Ethics Training Program, is aimed at citizenship training in a democratic society, this work provides elements that to some extent question this orientation, by specifically analyzing the type of citizen who is being trained in these schools in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, which is evidenced by the notion of citizenship that the students express; Likewise, the way in which teachers conceive the respective subject is analyzed, from which implications are derived that contribute to questioning compliance with said orientation.
