Abstract

This work is the product of a research advance, which deals with the correct use of basic operations when solving a problem. In the text some problematic situations presented to a group of students are approached, the same ones that pretend to know how is the use that they give to the basic operations when they are faced with a problematic situation; Likewise, it addresses how the context intervenes in order to solve a problem. The results that are presented correspond to a first approach established with the students, making known the strengths and areas of opportunity that the students present and being able to start from that to improve in terms of the areas of opportunity observed.
