Abstract

This case study documents how the transition to the hybrid teaching modality was implemented in the context of a COVID-19 pandemic in a public high school in a municipality of Aguascalientes, Mexico and the effects that this had. The work responds to an ethnographic exercise carried out from August 2019 to July 2020. The lack of economic resources in the homes and of support from the parents to the school activities of the young people, as well as the limited capacities teachers and students and the scarce availability of electronic devices were the main challenges to face in order to optimally transition to a hybrid teaching model, exacerbating the socio-educational vulnerability and pre-existing digital gaps among young people.
