Study on physical abandonment or child neglect in Ecuador.
Abstract
Child abuse is one of the most important social problems of our time. Neglect is the most frequent expression of child abuse; however, there is no universally accepted definition for it, making it difficult to interpret and identify the problem. The present study aims to identify the impact of certain individual, social, relational and family variables on the physical abandonment or neglect of children with such an unfavorable prognosis. The situation of physical abandonment or helplessness of minors is where we can find the inadequate conditions of the home where they live, the absence of housework on the part of the caregiver. The level of cultural education of the parents / guardians; the professional situation of those responsible for the minor.
