Abstract

Currently, terminal illnesses are growing at an accelerated rate; therefore, the objective of this research was to analyze the theoretical, doctrinal and legal approaches on the possibility of conceiving euthanasia as a right to die with dignity. A documentary and field research was carried out; the first allowed the review of doctrine, international conventions and legal aspects related to euthanasia. The second was a survey of people involved in the topic of study. The first results presented positions in favor and against the implementation of euthanasia. It was concluded that euthanasia for terminally ill people would aim to make free decisions about life and allow them to die with dignity.
