Abstract

Tourism contributes to the Ecuadorian economy with 2,392 million dollars, it is the third source of non-oil income in Ecuador according to him (Ministry of Tourism, 2019). The objective of this research is to analyze the evolution of tourist accommodation companies in the Baños de Agua Santa canton. The methodology used is descriptive with a quantitative and qualitative approach, for which a survey is applied to a population of 133 companies registered in the municipal registry of the tourism sector. The results obtained from the study show that tourist accommodation companies have undergone great changes in terms of quality, infrastructure, and their income has also decreased due to unfair competition and the oversupply of hotels.
