Abstract

The integral care of childbirth with a humanistic sense in which the free choice of how to give birth and be born is respected, considering the biological, spiritual and emotional spheres, in an environment of safety and intimacy, according to the cultural reality of each person and sustaining the care in evidence-based medicine, recognizing the mother and the father as the true protagonists, not intervening or interfering routinely in this natural process, to recognize and respect the individual needs of each woman/couple and the way they want to go through this experience, to determine the role of the nurse in the intercultural childbirth of pregnant women in San Luis de Otavalo hospital where the different researches were analyzed and it was evidenced that there are some cases of this problem.
