Prevalence of iron deficiency anemia in Biology students of the National University of Education Lima, 2019.

Abstract

It is an investigation carried out with students of the National University of Education of the specialty of Biology of the Faculty of Sciences; a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and exploratory research. 89 students were analyzed. Hematocrit and hemoglobin levels were measured to determine the presence of iron deficiency anemia. As a result, 14.6% of all students analyzed have iron deficiency anemia and 85.4% are normal. With anemia 46% corresponds to women and 54% to men.
