Abstract

This study seeks to rescue the ancestral knowledge related to agricultural production and obtaining natural fibers in the Andean areas of Peru. To carry out the study, an analysis of the current situation in the communities of the province of Chota will be carried out, through the application of unstructured interviews. The results show that more and more producers prefer to use modern methods instead of ancestral ones. Applying the TOPSIS method that offers as a result that the application of ancestral techniques is closer to the positive ideal values than the application of modern techniques. It is recommended to carry out more in-depth studies that quantitatively evaluate the different factors analyzed.
